The Rubber Development Department issued a license for all rubber traders under the Rubber Control Act No. 11 of 1956. Applications are called annually for the issuance of licenses and renewal of same for rubber dealers for every year. Engaging in such trading without obtaining a license is an offence.

For dealers already having such licenses will get the application forms for every renewal by post.

To either obtain a new rubber dealer license or to get a renewal, should apply using the correct format to the relevant Regional Office or the Head Office as required. Those who maintain raw rubber latex collecting centres should also obtain such licenses and should direct the monthly reports using the specimen forms (RC13, RC14) sent along with licenses, addressed to the Director General, Rubber Development Department. Currently department has issued about 570 dealers licenses throughout the country.

Requirements for applying for a dealer license

  • Valid business permit issued by the relevant authority of the area.
  • Weighing machine with a capacity to weigh 50 Kgs.
  • Company registration certificate.
